Holly Christensen

LCSW, CFRC

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Holly Christensen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University-Idaho and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Social Work from Boise State University. She lives and in practices in Southeast Idaho.

Christensen has been an active person in helping children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of capacities throughout her adult life. Since becoming a licensed counselor in 2017, Christensen has spent her career acting as guide in helping a diverse population of clients find healing from events outside of their control. Specializing in trauma, she has worked with grief/loss/life transitions, Veterans, First Responders, survivors of animal attacks, TBI, bullying, and has a tender place in her heart for survivors of physical or sexual assault/abuse, and partners of those with sexual addiction. Christensen has a love and passion for helping. She has trained to be a Certified First Responder Counselor (CFRC) and is currently in training to become a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT).  She has studied and/or been trained in Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and Movement Meditation, among other therapies.

Having had the firsthand experience of being a client who was “left hanging” with another treatment model, Christensen felt a drive to find a therapy that had the positive benefits of being fast, effective but without leaving client’s issues unresolved and “hanging” until the next session. After much research and study, it was with immense relief and gratitude to have found the “missing piece” she had been searching for in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) early in her career. From the moment she first heard about ART, she had a little voice inside say “This is what you’ve been looking for.” When she sat in her first Basic ART training, Christensen knew she wanted to become a trainer and take ART to other clinicians who, like her, may be looking for that missing piece to add to their therapeutic tools.
