Nathan Cottle

PhD, LCSW

Dr. Nate Cottle is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Professor of Family Science at Utah Valley University, where he combines his clinical expertise with academic knowledge. He holds a PhD in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Texas and earned his Master of Social Work from Utah Valley University.

 

As a mental health therapist, Dr. Cottle specializes in trauma treatment, with extensive training in various therapeutic modalities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Brain Spotting. Through his clinical practice, he has found Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to be the most effective treatment for trauma.

 

He has also worked to improve the lives of military families through his work with military chaplains in the Strong Bonds program, where he provides training to help service members and their families build and maintain healthy relationships.

 

Dr. Cottle balances his professional pursuits with family life, sharing his home with his wife and three children.
