Refresh. Renew. Restart: ART Back to Basics
This two-hour refresher is designed for ART-trained clinicians who want to reconnect with the Basic ART protocol and use it more consistently in clinical practice. The training reviews key ART components, including memory reconsolidation, eye movements, target selection, Scene Match, the Director Scene, Typical Day, Little Liar, and commonly used interventions. Participants will also examine common barriers that interfere with ART implementation, practice concise language for introducing ART and responding to client hesitations, and review strategies for managing time within typical therapy sessions. Special attention is given to common clinician concerns, client responses such as “I don’t know” or “nothing,” and broadening the definition of a successful ART session beyond complete symptom resolution.

Learning Objectives: By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the purpose and clinical application of key components of Accelerated Resolution Therapy, including eye movements, imagery, rescripting, and memory-focused processing.
  2. Apply strategies for selecting and refining treatment targets and adapting ART interventions based on client presentation, response, and level of engagement.
  3. Identify common barriers to implementing ART in clinical practice and apply practical strategies to support clinician confidence, client engagement, and integration of ART into routine care.
