Course Description: This 90-minute intermediate-level training provides clinicians with advanced clinical applications of Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART) when working with clients presenting with substance use disorders. The training reviews the clinical impact of comorbid mental health and substance use disorders and examines how memory reconsolidation processes within ART may reduce trauma-driven substance use triggers. Participants will learn practical modifications to ART scripts and interventions appropriate for clients across various levels of care, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, and residential treatment settings.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
1. Identify at least two ways comorbid mental health conditions impact substance use treatment when using ART.
2. Describe the role of memory reconsolidation in reducing trauma-related substance use triggers.
3. Describe how ART uses memory reconsolidation principles and identify at least two ART script modifications appropriate for clients with substance use disorders.
4. Identify one clinical consideration when applying ART interventions across different levels of care.

Instructor Bio: Roxanne Prince, LPCC, LADC, is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor based near Minneapolis, Minnesota. She completed ART Basic Training in 2018 and Advanced Training in 2020 and became an ART Trainer in 2024. Roxanne has clinical experience working with adolescents and adults in individual and group settings addressing substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Target Audience: Licensed mental health professionals trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy® who provide treatment to clients experiencing substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions.
