Description: Kristy Pauls, LCP will share how to use Accelerated Resolution Therapy with children ages 5–11. Participants will review the Basic Script with modifications appropriate for children. Within that script, Kristy will share a variety of tools that can be used with children at this age that have been effective in her experience as an ART therapist.
Participants will also review different approaches that may be helpful when working with children diagnosed with ADHD, depression, anxiety, and trauma-related symptoms. The training will include guidance on involving parents in treatment as participants in the child’s therapy, as well as considerations for utilizing ART via telehealth with children and/or with parent assistance.
Learning Objectives: By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
1. Describe modifications to the ART Basic Script appropriate for children ages 5–12.
2. Identify child-friendly tools that can support ART sessions with young clients.
3. Describe considerations for using ART with children presenting with ADHD, anxiety, depression, or trauma-related symptoms.
4. Explain considerations for using ART with children via telehealth and when involving parents in treatment.

Instructor Bio: Kristy Pauls is a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist (LCP) in Kansas and holds a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology. She is a Care Advocate for the KS SED/AU Waiver Team at Optum Behavioral Health. Ms. Pauls is also a highly certified practitioner of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), holding certifications as a Basic, Advanced, and Master ART Practitioner.
She has specific experience utilizing ART for the past nine years in emergency settings, domestic violence and shelter settings, and with children in those environments as well as in outpatient therapy.
Target Audience: Licensed mental health professionals trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy® who provide treatment to children ages 5–12.
