Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I am a Spanish-speaking Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and have been working in the mental health field since I graduated with my B.A. in Psychology, in 1996. I have a certificate in Marriage & Family Therapy and Basic Psychological First Aid & Post Traumatic Stress Mgt. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, a Master A.R.T. (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) Practitioner, and a Basic ART Facilitator. Additionally, I’m a State qualified supervisor for registered mental health counselors and marriage and family therapists working towards licensure.

My experiences include working with the child welfare system, conducting sexual abuse evaluations and assessments for Youth with Sexual Behavior Problems, conducting parent instruction and providing individual, group, couples, and family therapy. I counsel individuals with a broad spectrum of issues, which include: PTSD, anxiety, grief/loss, depression, low self-esteem, anger management, behavior issues, communication and social skills deficits, relationship issues, and history of trauma (i.e. sexual and physical abuse, and domestic violence).

I provide in-home counseling services through ASO/Children’s Board. I am also a behavioral consultant with the Lone Survivor Foundation. I have participated in USF research studies of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), to treat veterans who are experiencing symptoms of PTSD. A.R.T “reprograms the brain and makes positive changes” for conditions which include: post traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse trauma, grief, and obsessive compulsive disorder. For more information on ART, please go to acceleratedresolutiontherapy.com. My goal is to help individuals improve the overall quality of their life and to assist in obtaining further resources and tools to maintain continued self-care.

In 2017, she began hearing about Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART) as a rapid treatment for trauma that was gentle and quick. Over time, she became more curious but skeptical about the therapy. However, after being trained in the ART, her doubts were unfounded. Instead, she was delighted to discover that with ART most of her clients come away from sessions feeling relieved and positive rather than burned out and exhausted.

Currently, Siedler has a private practice, Hillary Siedler PhD, PC., in Asheville, North Carolina where she uses ART every day with her clients. ART has truly changed the way she perceives treatment of mental health issues.
