Julia absolutely loves being a psychotherapist. She finds the connection between client and therapist as deep and rewarding as any in human experience. Add to that, the excitement of breakthrough therapies, especially Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Julia’s prepared to argue that we’re living in the golden age of therapy.
Julia has a 22-year career in psychotherapy. She has been licensed in Pennsylvania, California and Minnesota, and she established her current private practice in St. Paul in 2007. Her primary concern is the wellbeing and forward movement of her clients, and the simplest paths to resolution of trauma, conflict and disorder. Alongside the traditional cognitive behavioral model, Julia draws on a mindfulness/body-based method (Hakomi), clinical hypnosis and clinical intuition to help people find their way. Julia also enjoys providing supervision, consultation and trainings to other therapists.
In February 2018, Julia trained in basic ART, and immediately found the technique to be transformational. The approach connects the dots between many other approaches, and, in Julia’s experience, it creates the most immediate relief from suffering for clients. Julia moved quickly through the rest of ART training levels and became a certified ART trainer.
Every therapist’s aim is to help clients make lasting changes. Julia is dedicated to helping other clinicians realize that goal with Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
