Julie R. Stender holds a master’s degree in social work from the University of St. Thomas/The College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minnesota. Additionally, she holds a Life Coaching Certificate from Adler Graduate School in Richfield, Minnesota.

With over twenty-five years of experience, Julie has worked as a therapist in diverse settings including adoption agencies, alternative school programs, community mental health centers, intensive outpatient programs, and private practice. She is dedicated to meeting her clients where they are, ensuring they feel comfortable and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.

Julie’s therapeutic approach is eclectic. She integrates the best practices from various therapy approaches and theories to tailor treatment uniquely to each client. In 2017, she enriched her practice with Improv Training, honing her ability to adapt dynamically to her clients’ needs. Julie creatively incorporates Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART) into her sessions, enhancing engagement and making therapy an enriching experience for her clients.

Julie operates Starfish Services, LLC, a private practice in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Her therapeutic style is solution-focused and client-centered, driven by a genuine passion for empowering individuals to create fulfilling lives.

Julie recently celebrated teaching her 100th Basic ART Training and is deeply grateful for the opportunity to expand her therapeutic toolkit and share this impactful modality.
