Maria Zygmont is a graduate of Springfield College in Massachusetts where she earned a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has over 30 years of experience in the mental health field. She is a Board Member of the Massachusetts Marriage and Family Therapy Association and is an approved Supervisor and a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.

Zygmont has received extensive Cognitive and Behavioral training as a Director at Goodwill Industries Psychological Service Department where she was responsible for the placement of individuals with cognitive and emotional impairments into supportive community-based living arrangements. Furthermore, she was in charge of psychological testing and developing and implementing behavioral management plans within the framework of family system theory. She also has experience in working in out-patient mental health clinics as a Special Education Teacher and an Occupational Therapist Assistant.

Since 1993, Zymont has been Director of Brightside Family Stabilization Intensive In-Home Therapy Program specializing in treating whole families who have traumatic experiences that impact upon the whole family’s ability to function. She also has a private practice where she works with each individual member of a family, including adults and children, using Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART) as a means to overcome identified areas by the client that may be a factor in their family interactional functioning.
