Amy Forsell
LCSW
Amy earned her MSW from Rutgers University in 1999 and spent her first decade working with individuals and families experiencing homelessness, eventually advancing to Regional Director. Wanting to return to direct client care, she pursued her LCSW and transitioned into a community mental health clinic, where she practiced for five years.
Since 2006, Amy has operated a successful solo private practice. She is known for her intuitive, relaxed approach and her ability to build strong, collaborative therapeutic relationships. Her work is strengths-based and relational, grounded in a trauma-informed approach that supports clients in meeting their therapeutic goals.
In 2020, Amy sought additional trauma-focused training to better support clients affected by the pandemic. She completed Attachment-Focused EMDR through the Parnell Institute, which led her to explore Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). She is trained in Basic and Advanced ART and became an ART Trainer in July 2025. Her clients consistently describe ART sessions as transformative, empowering, and emotionally freeing. Amy has witnessed the modality facilitate rapid symptom reduction and lasting change, and she is passionate about training clinicians throughout New Jersey and the surrounding regions to integrate ART effectively into their work.
Amy is also an approved clinical supervisor who provides supervision and consultation to clinicians seeking to strengthen their trauma-informed practice and integrate ART with fidelity and confidence.
