Jonathan Mitchell

LPCC, CCTP, NCC

Jonathan Mitchell is a graduate of both the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and he is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) awarded by The National Board of Certified Counselors, an international certifying organization for professional counselors in the United States. This certification is awarded to counselors who offer the highest standards of practice and have voluntarily demonstrated high national standards for the practice of counseling.

Mitchell began his career working to address the opioid addiction crisis in Kentucky. It was then that he became aware of a missing ingredient in the recovery of many of his clients, the successful treatment of trauma.  In 2017, he began learning about Accelerated Resolution Therapy®  (ART) and became one of the first individuals in Kentucky to become trained in the therapy. Immediately after, he began to see amazing results using ART. He later directed the focus of his career to improving his knowledge of trauma and mastering Accelerated Resolution Therapy in order to help his clients move past traumatic events.

Mitchell currently provides services through his private practice, Turning Point Mental Health Services, located in Lexington, KY,  where he specializes in working with clients who suffer from trauma as well as different types of diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)  and addiction. He uses ART every day with his clients and feels that the therapy has fundamentally changed the way he addresses the treatment of mental health.
