Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Nancy Blume earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work and a certificate in Social Studies Education in 1974 from the College of St. Teresa in Winona, Minnesota. In 1978, she received a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. She is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) and has received training in various modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Level 1 Sensorimotor, Linehan Certification, and Adaptive Internal Relational Model of Association.

Blume has over 30 years of experience working with adults and teenagers experiencing trauma and personality disorders, and through the years, has developed an expertise in working with clients experiencing disassociate disorders. She believes and practices within a mind/body framework when working with people struggling with trauma. Her wide experience with different modalities in treating trauma is what makes her especially excited about ART and feels the therapy is drastically helping individuals heal from their trauma, depression, anxiety, and other mental health diagnoses.

Although she has practiced EMDR for many years, she finds ART to be more grounding as it pays more attention to the body/sensory components of trauma as well as it provides more containment for individuals processing their trauma. Today, she exclusively uses ART to help clients process trauma, anxiety, phobias and eating disorders.

Blume, who resides in Saint Paul, Minnesota, has been a supervisor for over 20 years and has extensive experience in teaching. She believes that she is very effective in helping clinicians learn and practice new therapeutic modalities.
