Yolanda Harper

LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Yolanda Harper received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Social Work through the University of South Florida. She is Level 2 Gottman Trained, bringing the Gottman’s 40 years of research into sessions for couple’s therapy. She is also a Certified Daring Way Facilitator™ and uses Brené Brown’s 15 years of research on shame resiliency, vulnerability, and connection so that she can wrap her common experiences into words that make sense. Due to her high interest in the human brain and how it works, she became trained in neurofeedback.

As a private practice owner, clinician, researcher, trainer and teacher, Harper feels that out of all of her trainings and certifications, Accelerated Resolution Therapy® (ART) has made the largest impact on her clinical skills and business. ART has enabled her to hone on a unique specialty that gives her clients amazing results without her getting burned-out. The wide plethora of trainings she has participated in allows her to use a nice blend of emotions, thoughts, brain science, and research during therapy sessions. Additionally, ART allows her to blend these concepts into ART sessions, thus making each therapy session even more powerful.

Harper believes that emotions are her superpower. Her desire is to foster dialogue around the importance of mental and emotional well-being, and she believes that people can connect more deeply with others when they are truly connected to themselves. She hopes to see people restore some balance in their lives and remember the importance of being imperfectly human.

Harper’s private practice, Harper Therapy, located in Lutz, Florida is home to a team of highly-trained therapists and two Goldendoodle therapy dogs, Tobby and Hobbes. She specializes in trauma and post-traumatic growth. However, her most meaningful work as a therapist is to bear witness to people’s stories of struggle, strife, grit, and growth.

Giving back to her community is very important to Harper. She is honored to offer her expertise and consultation to Pasco County Fire Rescue CISM, Camaraderie Foundation Medical Advisory Committee, and Give an Hour. Harper Therapy also supports Warrior Mission: at Ease, STANO Foundation, Allie Cares, and The JoyFM.
